August in review: Conservation, naan bread and Pinterest

Happy September!

The weather may not have decided yet, but in my head it is officially autumn – my favourite season – I’ve already cracked out my scarves and chunky boots, as well as making a batch of these little leaf rings to make sure I’m ready for leaf crunching right down to the tiny details.

August seems to have flown by in a haze of ridiculously hot days and busy weekends, so I thought I’d take this chance to jot down a few highlights for this month and let you know some news for September…

Urban Makers x Old Spitalfields Market

I started off the month by having a stand at the Urban Makers x Old Spitalfields pop up and it was my best one yet – thank you to everyone that came and said hi! My new patches seemed to be popular and I had a wonderful time stuffing my face with street food whilst Amy manned the stall (below) – I’m very keen to eat even more naan bread, so you can find me at the pop up again on October 19th and browse all the lovely items available ahead of time over on the Urban Makers website. It’s also such a lovely market to explore, so I’d definitely recommend it for a day out!

Workshops

I held another botanical candle workshop at my studio in The Sorting Office – this time I added a new section on aromatherapy and expanded my scent and inclusion selection – they were both very well received luckily and everyone went home with beautiful candles. My next one is the 14th of September – after that, they get a bit of a festive twist! You can grab tickets here– all materials are included and you can expect to make around 8 candles – everything used is vegan and naturally derived.

Butterfly Conservation

August was our best month yet for sales of the pin, so thanks guys! If you haven’t got yours yet, you can grab one here - £2 from the sale of each goes to Butterfly Conservation. We raised £26* this month, bringing the total so far to £62. Can we beat it next month?

£5 Lucky dip rings
If you know, you know.

[Just kidding – these go on sale at 10am UK time today and WILL sell out quickly. For the unindoctrinated, you can grab a mystery seconds ring at the fraction of their normal price – be quick though as I only do these a couple of times a year and people set alarms! Find them in the Imperfect pieces section of the shop. If you’ve missed out, follow me on Instagram for news as to when the next batch launches…]

I also popped up my first blog post in ages, so if you fancy reading some more of my ramblings, you can find out how I got on arm knitting – I’m determind to try and keep it up this time! I also discovered Pinterest and fell down a bit of a hole, so if you want to follow my pinning adventures (mainly eco friendly swaps) come and say hi!

Have an awesome September team!
